Out of Season
Visitors who only ever see Croyde in the busy summer months miss out on the beauty and tranquillity of the other seasons.
When the tourists go home and the gift shops shut for the winter, the lanes become largely traffic free and you’re left alone with the natural beauty of North Devon. You can walk along the beach at Putsborough and hardly see a soul. Follow the South West Coast Path and watch the surf pounding the rocks at Baggy Point. In Spring, the fields are full of lambs and the first flowers appear in the hedgerows – it’s a magical time of year.
We are usually open all year round (apart from a few days at Christmas), and plenty of local restaurants and pubs still serve good food – The Rock Inn in Georgeham, for instance, has a winter gourmet menu.
So, whether you fancy a few days’ walking or a more relaxed romantic break, visit us out-of-season and have North Devon to yourself.
